About the Opportunity

Are you driven by the idea of owning your own business one day and building a lasting career in financial services? As a State Farm Agent Aspirant, you’ll be developed into the kind of leader who can run a successful State Farm agency—combining consultative sales, customer service, and business operations.

This is a business ownership career track designed to help you learn the industry, master the sales and service model, and build the skills required to lead a team and serve your community.

What You’ll Do

  • Learn the full agency model, including sales, customer service, and day-to-day operations.
  • Work with prospective and existing customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate coverage options (P&C and Life/Health).
  • Support agency growth activities including lead follow-up, appointment preparation, and participating in outreach efforts.
  • Provide exceptional service by assisting customers with policy-related needs, general questions, and account maintenance.
  • Build your insurance knowledge through State Farm-approved training and practical, hands-on support.
  • Develop strong communication, consultative selling, and relationship-building skills.
  • Follow established agency processes, compliance standards, and State Farm requirements.
  • Assist with marketing and community involvement initiatives as directed by agency leadership.
Training & Mentorship

  • Structured onboarding and ongoing coaching from agency leadership/mentor(s).
  • Training in:
    • Sales fundamentals and State Farm processes
    • P&C and Life/Health product knowledge
    • Systems/tools used by agents (lead management, CRM, etc.)
    • Service standards and agency operations
    • Business leadership and team development
  • Advancement is based on performance, readiness, licensing milestones, and business needs in the market.
Qualifications (Must Have)

  • Strong ambition to own and operate your own business one day.
  • Customer-first mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working toward measurable goals.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and follow a structured development plan.
  • Professional work ethic, reliability, and coachability.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all licensing and State Farm standards.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in sales, customer service, or small business operations.
  • Leadership experience or a demonstrated record of responsibility (school, work, community, or volunteering).
  • Interest/experience with learning systems/CRMs and managing leads.
  • Existing insurance license or prior industry experience (not required, but helpful).
Licensing Requirements

  • You may be required to obtain the appropriate Louisiana insurance licenses (P&C and/or Life/Health) as part of the development program and in accordance with State Farm and state requirements.
  • Exact timelines and licensing needs will be provided during onboarding.

If you are motivated to succeed and can see yourself in this role, please complete our application. We will follow up with you on the next steps in the interview process.
